    Blog Action Day - 15 Oct 2007

On October 15th, bloggers around the web will unite to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind - the environment. Every blogger will post about the environment in their own way and relating to their own topic.

Blog Action Day is about MASS participation. There are 3 ways to participate:
    (1) Post on your blog relating to the environment on Blog Action Day. I did!
    (2) Donate your day’s earnings to an environmental charity.
    (3) Promote Blog Action Day around the web (there are some banners here).

There's an article on the 100th Monkey Effect, if you'd like to learn more about what a mass-event can do

I am actually planning a month-long blogging campaign which focuses on the environment, which will begin on Sept 15th and conclude on Oct 15th on my charity-based blog, The Giving Hands. Will also look into the possibility of inviting guest bloggers to join the campaign

Err.. Is anybody interested? Anybody at all..?

I just registered today. It looks like it will be a great turn out. I just hope the email a reminder or something, it is so far away I don't want to forget! I added it to my calandar, but I have been known not to always look at it! LOL

  3. I've joined up for this one as well. It's great to see the blogosphere being utilised so well.

evelester - They'll send out an email 2 days beforehand. (And one next August, for next year's event! xD )

  4. I have joined in it too. Looks like many great bloggers have joined too. Chris has also joined. I saw his blog in the main page itself. Even Problogger is there.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I've just registered, and I'm going to start trying to plan a month-long set of posts. It needs some thought and forethought, tho'

Hi Gerald, actually Blog Action Day is only for a day, which is 15 Oct 2007. I hope my message (#1) didn't confuse you. I am planning for a month-long blogging campaign on the environment, instead of just a day

Durrr I've just realised this. Mind you, a month-long series isn't a bad idea. Most years, I participate in National Novel Writing Month. Something similar for blogging sounds like a cool idea, and a bit of a challenge to boot!

I think that might be overkill on you...

It's good that you'd put in the effort to write 30-odd posts on the topic, but would your readers put up with reading it? You might find a good few have unsubscribed by the end of the month...

Well, there are always 2 sides to a coin, no? Moreover, I'm not going to blog everyday, probably once in 2 or 3 days, on different issues, and I might also invite guest bloggers as well, because different people blog about different issues, nad have different voices and writing styles
