    Hello to you all,
I have been blogging for about 3 months now, and have learned that blogging is alot harder and more time consuming than I first thought, but I do enjoy it and love sharing my knowlegde and ideas. I need help to attract people to my blog site, can anyone please tell me what are the best steps to help me do this?

Hey jsanderz, blogging is indeed very hard work. From what I've observed it does get a little easier over time though.

My contribution to the pool of advice on building traffic is probably best summarized in this post, Hansel and Gretel Link-building. Hopefully you find it useful!

The best way to increase traffic to your blog is to BUILD QUALITY LINKS to your blog. Building Quality Links to your blog is the difficult part.

    Good luck!

Participating in forums like these is a good idea (always make sure your blog is in your sig) and also getting involved in the MyBlogLog community is a great place to start!

  9. There is really no magic solution to the question of traffic. It is a lot of hard work. It takes a lot of time too to build regular readership. When we first started blogging, we used to get about 30 visitors per day. After doing it for a year, our traffic is close to 500-700 a day. I am not sure what exactly happened but comments finally started coming in which a nice thing to see.

Ayat, my partner, wrote a blog 9 sure ways to increase your website trrafic. . You might find it helpful.

I liked the article, but I disagreed with some of it.

"Don’t write regular posts:" - Why not? I can see that he goes on to say that just writing 100 word posts isn't enough. That's fine, but why not stick to a posting schedule? I think knowing what to expect with a blog can be very helpful.

And he also seems to make a distinction between posts and articles. What is the distinction though, or is he saying that an article is just a long post? And on that note, he recommends articles being over 1200 words, as though post length is a value? I think there is a lot of benefit in saying what you need with only the words you need. No need to waffle to flesh out a word count.

btw - I'm not really aiming this at you. I know you didn't write it, but I'd like to hear what you thought of those points anyway.
