    Feedburner Messes Up

I have a mere 50-60 subscribers to Lighthouse-News, and around 17 for the haunted lights. However, I got quite a sight tonight when I got home from work:
Somehow, Feedblitz added a whole bunch of subscribers to both my blogs. I laughed and thought I'd share this with you. You all might want to check yours tates and see if any numbers strangely jumped up.

    P.S.
I don't even have a link to Feedblitz on my blogs.

    P.P.S.
And isn't the tagline from Feedburner appropriate??? LOLOL!

Good one - love the tagline, especially!
But, damnit, my own numbers are still what they've been all week. Lighthouse (blog) keepers have all the fun, it seems...

My feeds dropped to zero a few days ago, then went back to normal... and I found quite a few reports of the same issue in the Feedburner forums. So, I just ignored it, and they reset a day later.

LOL this explains why Michael Martin had 2500 subscribers yesterday. In fact, I was quite impressed by this huge leap in his subscriber count as he only had about 800 subscribers a few days ago.

Thankfully, my subscriber count remains normal, nudging ahead only 10 new subscribers a day. ^_^

Suddenly I'm getting Feedburner feed emails from blogs that I never subscribed to (and I don't subscribe by email anyway) -- Bizarre.

Do you think that maybe someone's been scraping email addresses and found a loophole to sign people up for subscriptions without the usual confirmation process? Hardly seems possible, but why else would Feedburner be directing me these emails with spam blog updates? ... unless they're really having some kind of major database cross-pollination meltdown over there...

p.s. Just noticed that one of my test blogs went to 10x the usual subscriptions. It is public but not promoted, and hasn't been updated for several months, so no reason for the numbers to jump. (see attaachment) All from FeedBlitz, same as SueC noticed in hers. I wonder if FeedBlitz has subscribed me to my own test blog -- should write a post and see if I get an email for it!

Jen, same thing happened to me, in a way. I was email subscribed (through Feedburner) to ICanHazCheeseburger, but a while ago, I stopped receiving it (unknown why). I resubscribed in a reader, and today I got one in email. I tried to unsubscribe, but it said I was unknown.
It's really strange...I saw on Problogger this am that there's a lot of it going around. And Lighthouse News only has "16 feedblitz" subscribers now (there should be only 1...me), but the haunted light site now has 799.

Either this Feedburner bug doesn't like me, or it's been fixed already. I have the normal number of subscribers (and I didn't check yesterday, so I don't know how many I briefly had).

It doesn't like me either! Nothing like a billion subscribers out of the blue for Zo'C.

Looks like it's been fixed...I'm back to normal, although I did pick up 9 subscribers somewhere. And not through Feedblitz.

The email subscription count was way inaccurate before this, now it's showing the correct number, so there was something good anyway. Woohoo, up to 65 for real. That's way better than the 720. Talk about pressure! LOL!
